Greetings From The Hospital

Well, now my wife knows about my blog. It's hard when you're suddenly a patient in a hospital, as I find myself, to gain access to a computer. I have temporarily gained access to a medication laptop which is now attached to the wall on a telescoping arm.

I should correct a misimpression, my wife has akways known I have a blog, today she got to read a part of it when the nurse came in and started the admitting process and Judy saw the blog, and Holmes on the screen and started reading.

I will tell you what happened. Like any other normal human being, I went to the bathroom to dispose of some unwanted bodily waste. What was unusual was the blood in the toilet bowl. The blood was just as unusual 20 minutes later. And twenty minutes after that. Bizarre was needing to lie down on the recliner to get my strength back. I had trouble seeing. I was very light headed.

Here is where training pays off. I called a neighbor first to take me to the hospital. It was clean I shouldn't try driving. No one home at the neighbors. Get the medic alert bracelet on. Print out the medical history. Get the insurance card. Call 911, Call the wife's cell so she will know what is happening. Pray.

I am wireless wired for everything. I am in a room. Holmes is not doing well. I have shooed Judy out of the hospital to take care of Holmes. I have had two units of saline and my Blood Pressure is up to 100 over 65. I was 70 over 50 when I came in. They don't want to feed me or give me anything by mouth. No water, no ice chips. Nothing.

All things being equal, this is a week I'd just as soon forget. But, I am in maroon sweat pants and an orange shirt! I hope Mist would approve, I am still wearing my slippers. I was light headed you see.....

Oh jeez! In the hospital, cat still not well and you are concerned with Orange sweat pants???

BP is sounding better. I hope it is nothing serious and you and holmes are back to your upbeat selves very soon. I'm sorry to hear this is such a crappy week for you.

If you never have a crappy week, you never get to really appreciate those fabulous days. Things will get better soon! Mist will publish something. I don't know what it will be, maybe you'll write the funniest post ever. I'm personally going to Odat's. She always cheers me up! Then to your place.

I am always confused by those "gowns" they make you wear in the hospital. Just how in the Hell are you supposed to accessorize that?

Keep the slippers on. Do they come in a heel?

What Ali said. Get well. Soon!

hang in there & don't be harrassing the hospital staff!!

seriously, take care of yourself, rest, and get better. figure out the problem, and work the problem, right? right..

My goodness! Wishing you a speedy recovery! If you can think of anyway I can offer assistance, please let me know.

As for harrassing the staff, they enjoy playful harrassment. It's a thin line but I know you can figure it out. Also keeping the control of what you wear is very important. It's an awful feeling to give up all the control of yourself to the medical community.

When you are up for it, I have a specially designed IV bag filled with the proper spirits to get you back on your feet.

Sending well wishes to you, Holmes and Judy. Looking forward to hearing all about your recovery and Holmes'.

I have been a model patient. I have ignored little mistakes like no IV fluids when I am supposed to be on continuous IV fluids. I have offered to go to the pharmacy and get the fluids for them, and just generally made friends. I have smiles a lot, I have not raised my voice once.

My blood pressure is still 95 over 60 which is low, but my heart rate is 95. I wish that was lower. I got them to unhook me from the IV so I could go to the john (it's electric and the plug won't go to the john) and I took a brisk walk around the floor, and did some tai chi. I need to heal and get out of here, I have a sick cat at home.

I think this is a man thing, but for my money, there's nothing so alarming as seeing blood in the toilet. I'm so impressed that you still wore maroon and orange!
