A Little Mental Health

I cannot begin to tell you how much fun a kitten is, or can be. Yesterday, I called him Peter Lorre in the "Hunchback of Notre Dame". On the other hand, he loves playing Korean War Games. The other day, he successfully defended the Inchon Resevoir against the entire Chinese Army, complete with trumpets, while they screamed (well, one grunted) "Marine, you die". The cat is fearless, a real Aldo Ray.

The two of them are checking out the back yard, acting normal. This lasts maybe 3 nanoseconds before she smacks him for attacking her. He is in permanent attack mode, with energy to spare. Even she does not intimidate him, although he chooses to count coup, and run like hell. At 16 months, she has mellowed out.

Wiggle worm has initiated an all-out war against my left hand, starting at my left thumb and forefinger. This one has not mastered probability yet. He's a warrior.

After escaping from the dreaded "fist of death", he picked a new target, the other cat's tail. She simply kept moving it out of range, or let him grab it, then pulled it away. Mother cats know more about raising kittens than humans, I think.

After slaughtering all known enemies, and everything around them, the typical warrior cat catches a little shuteye, typically on the recliner in the family room in front of the TV. He will probably like Animal World where he too will learn to drag his prey between his legs. More to come.

I'm happy with both of them.

That was an awesome post! I think he also could strike me as "Nips"... you know, like Cheese Nips. Of course, in the South we call them Naps... which is what he also appears to enjoy! I love the patience of the Girl. She's so lovely.

PB just informed me that it's "Nabs", not "Naps". I guess I'm not from 'round here after all.

business idea: kitten rental service.

Hi Tiff, I like Nips and Nabs, both. I have been calling him both Harry and Joe a lot too. PB will realize one day that you're a deep Southerner.

Hi M@, I like the idea, but the wild man isn't ready for public consumption yet, he still likes to chew on fingers.

Hi Carrie, you have the indominable Churchillian Teddy and company, a fabulous cat contingency.

Hi Mel, the wiggle worm is turning the first floor into the Grand Prix of Gaithersburg. He has also learned to climb my leg.

Hahaha...the Warrior looks like he is dreaming happy things in his well-deserved rest after battling all day long.
Oh and I have no doubt, she will eventually scooch, swat, ignore him into place...

The cuteness. It's killing me.

Mel said...

'Cuteness' would be done with leg climbing....

Though I dare say I do laugh when they tear through the place, slide on that kitchen run and slam their bodies into the fridge door....all with a look that says "YEP.....MEANT to do that!!!" LOL

Enjoy, Monty!

Hi Puss, the vet calls him Mischief. The entire staff there needs to play with him whenever he goes in.

Hi Moi, I'm not in your league, but I'm working on it!

Hi SLB, couldn't you just see him at the Thermopolae Pass with the Spartans. He would fight to the bitter end, then take a nap. Things happen that way when you're six weeks old.

Hi Ali, today, his cuteness came flying across the room and he landed in the trash can next to my desk. He launched out of the trash can, knocking it over. Seeing the trash on the floor was like Christmas morning. He ran back and forth through the trash, throwing some of it into the air, playing soccer with some of it. He's just so adorable at times.

Hi Mel, you must have cats, or you really know kittens well. Really well. I have the leg scars to prove it.

*chuckling*

I dare say that kitten sounds to be a lot like ME when I knock over the trash can in the study. I go for a score--and it's a tricky, angled shot across the hallway and into the bathroom, lemme tell ya! LOL

Hi Mel, now you sound like my wife. You'd fit right in.

This is a delightful post and charming pictures. In the first one, you can see the mischief wheels turning defiantly, and in the last he sleeps the sleep of the justified.

Do you think he would consider a run for President? We really need someone creative, energetic and fearless.

They are so gorgeous! I'm so glad you found each other.

Hi Susan, he'd be another Ronald Reagan as President, taking naps all day. But when he's awake, he'd be non-stop action.

Hi Claudia, they arrived just in the nick of time. It's true, you get what you need!

So how are the kitties doing? You're off playing with them every spare moment I bet :) Kitties are so good for the soul!

Hi Carrie, I was talking about you yesterday. The big one has a blood infection, and was hospitalized for four days. She's quarantined upstairs until Nov. 4. Jake, the little one, is biting everything. He's hilarious though.
