An Interim Post

I was graciously nominated as a Schmoozer by the Lovely Odat and I started the post last weekend and have yet to finish it. When I tell you that I am overwhelmed, it's really too many business problems all hitting at the same time. I'm pleased to say that I even crossed paths with Judy and her boss for dinner tonight. You see what happens when you schedule things, actually put it on a calendar and threaten someone if they miss an appointment. I'm not mentioning any names here.

What thrilled me today, and justifies writing an quick post at 4:30 am is that in Bush's Press Conference today, he mentioned at the very beginning that he and the new Prime Minister of England agreed on keeping Darfur on the forefront of the World's view and not letting the tragedy slip onto the back burner. People writing to their Congressional representatives is beginning to have an effect. It can't hurt to write again seeing as how there's an election coming up next year. What could be a better time to remind your representative of how you feel about Darfur and ask about their position. Don Cheadle has a new book out about Darfur. And if you ever wondered, try reading "The Diary of Anne Frank" and try to imagine waiting for the World to show up.

I need to sleep a little. Tomorrow!

The new PM of England seems willing to say pretty much anything that might help him hang onto more than his fifteen minutes in the top job.

We are all rather disappointed.

Puss, he and Georgie seemed like they grew up together and were the best of friends and agreed on everything. The American Public threw the Republicans out of office in the last election and asked for the war to end. The Administration responded by sending more troops. I believe the English originally called it representative government. The representative owes his constituents his best judgment.

Oh, I can attest to the fact that he is very Schmoozerific. I found out today via phone.

Judy is also quite enjoyable while yelling hello from the background!

Not only that, but The World has grown far more egocentric, vain and horrifyingly silly since Anne and her family waited in that attic, and in the death camp.

Our country is much too taken up with the affairs of drunken rich kids to care about the innocent kids of Darfur who are dying in large numbers every day.

It is, more than ever, up to the people who care to do something without waiting for our governments to become enlightened. They stand for nothing but election.

I'd vote for Don Cheadle.

Wicked, I'm nominating you too. Schmoozing doesn't stand alone!

Hearts, I wish you were doing the writing as I could read your words forever. You are one of the best writers I have the pleasure of reading.

NFC, thank you!

Mist1, I hope you're feeling better. You and Hearts both should write more. You may need a vacation, and That's OK. I just have missed you a lot. Welcome back.
